No other organisation speaks with as many young Australians.
Kids Helpline is Australia's only private and confidential 24/7 counselling and support service specifically for young people aged 5-25 years.
A tough shift...on a recent Friday night 65 calls to Kids Helpline were recieved during a 3 hour period.
The issues counsellors were presented with that night included:
- Caller contemplating a fatal herion overdose;
- Young person who had tried to hang themselves;
- Caller who had been sexually abused;
- 10 year old calling about physical abuse and neglect by mum and
- 19 year old about to jump in front of a train.
