The featured charity for this month is Assistance Dogs.
Assistance Dogs Australia helps people that have physical disabilities through service and companion dogs.
Assistance Dogs undertake everday tasks such as picking up dropped items, pressing the button to catch the lift, opening and closing doors, retrieving a drink from the fridge as well as love and companionship.
Assistance Dogs have placed100 dogs all round Australia with both kids and adults. The Assistance Dogs are fully trained to international standards and provided to recipients with physical disabilities free of charge. It takes over $25,000 and two years to train up each and every dog.
In November Assistance Dogs celebrated Assistance Dogs Australia Week - a week aimed to raise the awareness of what Assistance Dogs Australia do and why they do it. During the week the public had the opportunity to meet some of the dogs, some pups in training, recipients and volunteers.
