Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free, private and confidential, 24-hour telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged 5 to 25 years.
Each week, counsellors answer more than 5,500 contacts – often regarding very serious issues including mental health, self-injury and suicide. However, thousands more go unanswered.
By taking part in Lock Up Your Boss you will help Kids Helpline connect with more kids across Australia. Lock Up Your Boss is a great staff engagement opportunity. Bosses are imprisoned for one hour in their office and must raise a minimum $500 bail. Once they've raised the necessary bail, you can let them free and all the money raised goes to help Kids Helpline.
When you register on-line at http://www.lockupyourboss.com.au, you will receive a Lock Up Your Boss Kit in the mail. This contains all the information you need to host a fun and successful event, including prisoner shirt, handcuffs and sheriff badge. In addition, the Lock Up Your Boss website helps make your fundraising easy with E-cards, Plea, Wanted Poster, Summons and an example of a media release.
Lock Up Your Boss is an on-line driven fundraiser, which allows online donations, so you have no cash handling or receipting responsibilities.
