Aussie Helpers is a volunteer-operated charity specialising in drought relief in rural Australia. The organisation’s mission, ‘Aussies helping Aussies’ manifests itself through their work providing much needed relief to isolated drought affected families.
Aussie Helpers regularly deliver food, hygiene items, and truckloads of stock fodder for livestock who would otherwise starve. Their volunteers often encounter people suffering from depression due to their circumstances and will organise counselling for those worst affected.
Aussie Helpers recently acquired a property in Mathoura, NSW, to turn into a working farm. The farm will provide refuge to homeless young adults, providing a safe mentoring and training environment for them to later gain employment in the rural sector.
