The Centre for Corporate Public Affairs was commissioned by The
Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous
Affairs to undertake research into the impact of the current economic
downturn on the operations of non profit community organisations.
The report was released in June 2009 and provides a snapshot of the magnitude of the impact on non profit organisations.

Key findings include the challenge of a substantial increase in demand for community services coupled with budget constraints from lower returns on investment funds, tightening corporate budgets and less funding from philanthropic trusts and foundations, major donors and community giving.
