Tapping into a critical insight identified in ACF's Cutting to the Heart of Workplace Giving research, Children's Cancer Institute Australia has launched lab tours so its employer partners and donors can see their donations at work. To reach beyond its Sydney lab HQ, CCIA is also launching a capital city roadshow to showcase its science on the road.
'On lab tours we can really make a connection and explain how our work is making a difference in the fight against childhood cancer'Â said CCIA corporate partnership executive Jo Booth.
Taking groups of 10 through the lab at any one time allows people to see researchers, equipment and experiments in progress. Booth said researchers get the chance to talk first-hand about how their studies are helping eliminate children's cancer.
'This better translates to how donor funds are being used and saving lives' Booth said.

The Australian Charities Fund and United Way have made a joint submission in response to the Commonwealth Treasury's discussion paper, 'Charitable fundraising regulation reform'.
