Goldman Sachs charity champions experience donor impact first hand

First hand experienceGoldman Sachs Melbourne charity champions and staff know from first hand experience the difference their workplace giving donations make to the patients and families of the Children's Cancer Centre.

For the last seven years Goldman Sachs executive assistant and charity champion Janice Schouteten said the same small group of female workmates have baked home-made goodies to take to the Centre each year on Mother's Day and at Christmas.

An employee engagement initiative Schouteten said 'it's something we can do, especially for the parents living there. It gives them someone to talk to.'

Schouteten said the same group of women go and enjoy the chance to see and hear first hand the impact of Goldman Sachs workplace giving donations and the valuable work of the Children's Cancer Centre.

When the urge to give is coupled with personal enrichment, workplace giving becomes much more than a set and forget experience.

Children's Cancer Centre community spokesperson Mary McGowan said the events are always great, and the families and patients enjoy and value the extra cheer.

This year's morning tea will take place on Thursday, 16 December.
