Established by St Andrew's Cathedral School in 2007, Gawura is a unique and successful learning environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from disadvantaged families in Sydney.
A Kindergarten to Year 6 Campus with high teacher/student ratios, Gawura delivers an intensive programme of literacy and numeracy development. Close collaboration with Indigenous parents and families has been critical to the success of the programme and to the continued engagement of the students. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are celebrated and incorporated into the teaching programme. Students participate in regular drama classes, music and sport with their peers across the school from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Why Workplace Giving?
ACF Workplace Giving is a proactive way employers and their employees can support Australian charities. Workplace Giving programs are effective fundraising tools because they channel 100% of donated funds to the non profits they support.
Workplace Giving is easy to implement and low cost to maintain. Contact The Australian Charities Fund for more information on getting involved in Workplace Giving.
