Providing a hand up rather than a hand out - Many Rivers Microfinance aims to solve the unemployment crisis among indigenous and disadvantaged Australians.
Through business support and small loans Many Rivers helps indigenous and disadvantaged Australians establish and develop micro and small businesses.
Initially developed through a series of pilot programs by global microfinance leader Opportunity International, Many Rivers was established in 2007 and currently operates in 8 locations and employs 9 Field Officers in NSW and WA. Many Rivers has developed a National Program to establish offices in 20 regions across Australia operated by 40 Field Officers by June 2015.
