When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, a family's world is turned upside down. For many families it is the beginning of a roller coaster ride that is unpredictable and full of challenges.
Recognising the profound impact on both the family as a whole, and individual members, Very Special Kids implements a range of services and programs that are designed to meet the changing needs of families. Over 800 families across Victoria are currently being supported by Very Special Kids. This support is provided by specialist staff and trained volunteers across a range of settings including the home, hospital and Very Special Kids House.
